PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapy will help to relieve your symptoms and prevent further injury. We will accurately diagnose your problem following a thorough assessment and we will then provide treatment on your initial consultation. Such treatment will consist of the latest scientific and evidence based practice modalities that we as a team feel will be the most beneficial for each condition. A specific strengthening and exercise rehabilitation programme may be devised if required to suit each individual to enable a full recovery and a return to full fitness.
What types of therapies do we use in our practice?

MANUAL THERAPY

Manual therapy is defined as a clinical approach utilizing specific hands-on techniques used by our experienced team to diagnose and treat soft tissues and joint structures for the purpose of modulating pain; increasing range of motion (ROM); reducing or eliminating soft tissue inflammation; inducing relaxation; improving contractile and non-contractile tissue repair, extensibility, and/or stability. Manual therapy is used to treat musculoskeletal pain and disability; it mostly includes kneading and manipulation of muscles, joint mobilization and joint manipulation.

MEDICAL ACUPUNCTURE/ DRY NEEDLING

Our First Physiotherapy Clinic team provide acupuncture and dry needling service in conjunction with other physiotherapy modalities to help cure musculo-skeletal related problems. Many conditions respond well to such acupuncture and dry needling techniques including neck pain, back pain and other soft tissue injuries around the body in the upper and lower limbs. Acupuncture may be used to help relieve symptoms such as pain & muscle spasm, increase circulation, increase energy levels, reduce stress, reduce tension and improve general well-being. Our team may use the acupuncture and dry needling techniques uniquely or more commonly in conjunction with other forms of physiotherapy such as manual therapy, massage and remedial exercise.

INSTRUMENT ASSISTED SOFT TISSUE MOBILIZATION

Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is a popular treatment for myofascial restriction. IASTM works like a standard massage, but specialized instruments are used in place of a physical therapist’s hands to provide a mobilizing effect to scar tissue and myofascial adhesions. These instruments allow more direct treatment of the soft tissues involved with movement.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
sports massage

During deep tissue massage Our team of qualified Massage Therapists apply slow, forceful strokes. These can help release knots and strains in the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The overall aim is to realign the muscles and release chronic muscle tension from ailments or injuries.

face massages

We offer a wide range of facial massages that are natural methods of biological facial rejuvenation. In our offer, you will find massages such as: KOBIDO massage, head massage, 3D Fusion Lifting, Upala Massage, Quiro Massage, Ayurvedic Marma Massage.

KINESIOLOGY TAPING

Kinesiology is a holistic therapy which uses muscle response testing to measure the motor response of the central nervous system to a sensory challenge. By doing this, imbalances can be determined and methods to rebalance the body can be indicated. At First Physiotherapy Clinic we use a special elastic therapeutic tape which is an elastic cotton strip with an acrylic adhesive that is purported to ease pain and disability from athletic injuries and a variety of other physical disorders including in pregnant women.

BODY SHAPING MASSAGE

The body sculpting method massage is an exclusive treatment that focuses on vigorous and specific movements. This not only drains fluids and toxins, but particularly improves and reshapes the body contours especially the abdomen, waist, hips and buttocks. At First Physiotherapy Clinic we combine the body shaping massage with Chinese BANKA and multi-needle Lyapko roller treatments to accurately fight cellulite keeping your skin firm and beautiful.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE

Lymphatic drainage massage, also known as manual lymphatic drainage, relieves swelling that happens when medical treatment or illness blocks your lymphatic system. Lymphatic drainage massage involves gently manipulating specific areas of your body to help lymph move to an area with working lymph vessels. Conditions that benefit from lymphatic drainage massages are: chronic swelling of the legs, Rheumatoid arthritis, Chronic venous insufficiency, post-workout regeneration, heavy leg syndrome, detox. It can be an outstanding support for all body shaping and anti cellulite treatments.
